I'M NOT OK WITH THIS

Hello beautiful people, today I want to tell you about this genius that I met a few weeks ago, it is called "I'm not ok with this" is a comic book written by Charles Forsman that focuses on a 15-year-old girl named Sydney.

A typical girl who listens to music with her best friend gets into fights with her little brother and can't wait to finish high school, but underneath all that normality is a diary with her most bizarre secrets, like falling in love with her best friend, the strange death of his father and certain telekinetic powers that she is beginning to suffer. Super normal, right?

The comic, despite being short, is direct, raw and reveals the intense journey that a young woman who tries to overcome traumas can undergo while keeping her emotions in control, and although the author makes it look very supernatural, I think it actually evokes what everyone feels from time to time and more when going through a traumatic event such as the loss of someone, the rejection of love or the feeling of not fitting in with anything or anyone.

This comic has made its big entry by the adaptation on the Netflix platform with the same name, at the hands of the creators of "Stranger Things" and "The End of Fxxx World" it has the rising actors Sophia Lillis and Wyatt Oleff, also known for the movie IT, and while there are several points that were modified or removed from the comic, it's worth checking out.

Personally, I can tell you that I loved the series, it has only seven episodes and it has not been revealed yet if it will have a second season, but the visual effects are morbidly real, and the feeling of anguish that Sydney experiences during each episode as she tries to live her life It is 100% accurate, in my opinion, you can really take it as just sci-fi or the deep story of what we all feel once in our adolescence, knowing that we are no longer children but not adults, undergo the physical changes of growing up, being overwhelmed by loving feelings that many times were not reciprocated and trying to be excellent in school; I don't know about you, but surely I could relate to all that.

Without a doubt, I am waiting for something more after that last episode and although the comic ended in a very different way giving us an END, I highly recommend that you can see both, perhaps read first and watch the show later or as you prefer, the fact is you CANNOT pass up this wonder.

XOXO Li
