FIRST SERIES

The first successful series in the US was a sitcom (situation comedy) titled "I Love Lucy", which aired on CBS from 1951 to 1957 and was the most-watched series for four seasons, with its leads actress Lucille Ball.

"Bonanza" was an NBC western series that aired between the years 1959 and 1973, it was the first to introduce two novelties, hour-long chapters, and color, it was also one of the first programs to feature a sponsor, the "Chevrolet" car brand.

The first successful series within the science fiction theme, which over time would become a cult series was "The Twilight Zone" where host Rod Serling presents fantasy and suspense stories, it was aired between 1959 and 1964.
