Hello beautiful people, today I want to talk to you about a Netflix series that hit super hard, was among the top 10 of the platform and has been a BOOM internationally.

It is none other than Lupine itself, a French television series full of suspense, thriller, drama, and comedy, is the brainchild of George Kay and François Uzan, was released on Netflix in early January this year.

Some of you may have heard of Lupine, this series is based on the collection of books by Maurice Leblanc, who was a French novelist and short story writer, the first installment of this wonderful and intriguing story was published on July 15, 1905 with the title "The arrest of Arsène Lupine" in the stories serialized in the magazine Je Sais Tout, originally the name of the main character was Arsène Lopin, but due to the close resemblance of a local politician it had to be merely modified.

This fictional gentleman who was both a thief and a detective is believed to be the counterpart to Sherlock Holmes, created by Arthur Conan Doyle. By 1907 Maurice Leblanc had completed his studies to be a writer and dedicate himself to the novels of Lupine. With the good reviews and the rise in sales of this incredible character, Leblanc decided to dedicate his career to the stories of Arsène, but some time later he suffered the effect of resenting such success, because he could not get out of that character, it seems that it was the same for Arthur Doyle, who often seemed embarrassed by the success of his character.

Leblanc received the Légion d'Honneur for his services to literature and died in Perpignan in 1941. He was buried in the Montparnasse cemetery. His house became the official museum "el Clos Lupin" where all the writer's work is exhibited in the form of an incredible scenography, at the reception they deliver essential equipment for the discovery of a scenographic route with the gentleman thief. Eight stages, in imagination and magic, happen in detail in a decoration from the beginning of the century.

So much was the success of the novels that the character was included in several books by different writers, he was also named in several movies, animations, and television series, which brings us to the Netflix show, which stars Omar Sy, known for the French film "The Untouchables", his appearance in "Jurassic World" and the voice of Joe Gardner for the French dubbing of "Soul", this extremely talented man plays the role of Assane Diop, a man who lived all his life with the adventures of Arsène Lupine, and that when an obstacle has been presented to him, he resorts to his ingenuity and the tactics of the book. The first season consists of five episodes, it is subtitled "Dans l'ombre d'Arsène" (In the shadow of Arsène), in reference to the inspiration of the main character.

After its premiere in January, the series was seen by 70 million people during the first month, this being the most watched non-English-speaking show on the Netflix platform. The second season premiered on June 11 of this year with a high index of view like the first season, and the reason is that each chapter leaves you wanting more, is full of adrenaline, mystery, and Assane's ingenuity is unique, it is a show that hypnotize you, it is great to develop those investigative skills, it makes you think and guess each clue and each moment, it is very well developed, it has a spectacular cast, which moves the pieces in a certain way so that each element complements each other.

Within the plot, Assane's personal circle is observed, represented by her ex Claire played by Ludivine Sagnier, her son Raoul played by Etam Simon and her best friend Benjamin played by Antoine Gouy, each of them makes up an essential part of what Assane is and what he wants to achieve in life, the ups and downs of that relationship are shown but in the end it leads to only one path. Like every character there is a counterpart that helps the development of the plot, in this case it would be the Pellegrini family, who directly and indirectly become Assane's number one enemies.

If you have not seen this series yet, I tell you that you should run to watch it, you will not regret it, it will leave you with a very good taste, you will want to do a marathon to watch all the episodes on the same day. The third season, which is already confirmed not only by its main actor Omar Sy but also by Netflix, has no release date yet. THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE!

Hello beautiful people, how have you been? how is your week going so far? Let's talk about horror series, more specifically about a show that I came across a little bit ago.

"The Haunting of Hill House" is a new adaptation of the novel by Shirley Jackson, perhaps the most iconic reference in the haunted house genre. I have not seen the films that have been based on this work, and I have not read the original source either, so my references are the summary of its plot and my own opinion.

This Netflix series tells us the life of the Crain family at the time when they entered to live in a mysterious house in which a traumatic event occurred for everyone. In the first five episodes we witness various events told from the points of view of the five brothers, culminating in a magnificent bottled chapter in which all the characters come together under one roof. An episode that has an impeccable staging and that can easily enter the lists of BEST episodes.

The direction is in charge of Mike Flannagan (Oculus, Absentia, Hush) who, with a slow pace, open shots, camera movements that follow the characters, subverts what we expect from the clichés of the genre, because he respects the viewer and knows that we know the conventions of this type of story.

There are series, which are installed in your brain, in your heart, in your gut or everywhere, that are capable of evoking sensations beyond your viewing and I can say that this is the case of Hill House. 

It has remained in my head, the story is not superficial, it's not an excuse to place scares in each episode and create a sick atmosphere. One could say, in fact, that it's the other way around: these key tools of the genre serve exclusively to tell us the story of a family.

The presents of Steven, Shirley, Theodora, Luke and Eleanor demonstrate to what extent our processing of memories has a direct consequence on our personality, at the same time our ability to empathize with our environment, to become emotionally uninhibited.

The ten episodes of "The Haunting of Hill House" are a deconstruction of the ways to overcome a trauma, of the mechanisms that we develop to face it (or not have to), of living marked by the shadow of a family member and the difficulties of keeping fraternal ties alive during adult life, especially when each one has developed their character and priorities.

The horror scenes are perfect and let me tell you, there are several that have been etched into my brain to threaten to appear in my nightmares, but we could easily eliminate all the supernatural parts and we would still have the interesting story of a family dealing with pain, loss, drug addiction, anger, guilt, trauma and mental illness. More than a story about a haunted house, it's a story about characters haunted by very REAL ghosts.

If you are a fan of the series, of psychological terror, if you like a good ghostly presentation this show is made for you, I found it recently, and I decided to do a marathon with my girlfriend, we could not detach ourselves from the screen with each chapter that passed.

Now Netflix has given us the teaser for the new show from the creators of this majesty and will come out this October honoring Halloween again "The curse of Bly Manor" so it brings the same strength, super intriguing and it will be great to see it .

PSYCHO BUT IT'S OK!

Hello beautiful people, today I come to tell you about a Korean drama that revolutionized the Netflix platform, had a worldwide reach and is worth watching.

This drama is known in Korea as "Psycho But It's Okay", and in Latin America "It's Ok to Not Be Ok" is a story that revolves around a woman named Ko Moon-Young, who has a clear antisocial personality disorder, but surprisingly she is a children's book writer.

Throughout her life she meets Moon Gang-Tae who has unknowingly always been there for her. This young, kind, charming and gentleman person has a sad past, he is the support for his brother Moon Sang-Tae, who suffers from autism which forces Gang-Tae to mature very quickly and get ahead in life.

The plot of "Psycho But It's Ok" is simply exquisite, during the beginning of this K-drama, they transport you to a fantasy world, because the protagonist Ko Moon-Young, tells how during her childhood nobody spoke with her, because she felt as if death was always with her, and that is why everyone feared her.

The interpretation of Seo Ye-Ji is majestic, as a woman full of qualities that we usually see very often in the male role of the drama, of course her past marked her and made her someone excessively sincere. The plot little by little captivates you, with a black humor that does not bother but helps to clearly deal with problems or situations that are not easy to express.

It is wonderful to see how Sang-Tae develops in society with his autism, because it allows you to see the difficulties that people who suffer from this face every day. Talking about aspects such as personality disorder problems, autism symptoms and patients with varied conditions thanks to the work in a Psychiatric ward, make this drama something unique.

For me it is a deep drama that dares to speak and break imposed paradigms, not only that, the characters presented here are atypical to the schemes that have been used for years; It challenges the classic love story, as it shows how a heart can mend the scars of the past and emotionally heal people.

Few know that behind this plot there was a mastermind, the screenwriter Jo Yong. The writer of the drama surprised many by this interesting story and revealed what inspired her to develop it.

Jo Yong offered an interview for Star News and indicated that the plot of “Psycho But It's Ok” is based on a true story, one that marked her personally: “This drama began with my love story with a man who had a personality disorder and it's the background to Psycho But It's Okay”, “It's a drama that reflected my mind. Through the character of Gang-Tae, I wanted to apologize for not having acted properly back then” she added.

The writer continued with her reflection and said: "I wanted to apologize in some way and let him know that he did not do anything wrong. And I hope he is happy wherever he is. While writing the drama I was able to heal those feelings".

The truth is that beyond being a fan of oriental culture, loving K-pop music and watching these dramas this show is worth it and everyone should watch it, you don't need to be a fan, "Psycho But It's Ok" does not disappoint, has humor, sentimentality and above all it gives you a new perspective on topics that are not touched very often such as mental problems, depression, abuse or detachment.

Take advantage of the fact that it's still on Netflix, take a marathon either alone or with someone and enjoy this wonderful drama and its great soundtrack.

HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER!

How To Get Away With Murder is an American legal drama series created by Peter Nowalk and produced by Shonda Rhimes for ABC on September 25th, 2014

IGN's Amber Dowling called the pilot episode great by giving it a score of 8.0, commenting, "If you like series with a dark tone and intense beat, then this will do. As with most legal dramas, you have to suspend reality in order to accept the way in which some of the coincidences unfold".

"Viola Davis is the number 1 reason to see, but this is also the role that could put Alfred Enoch on the Hollywood map. Most of the characters are morally ambiguous, hungry and selfish, but they don't apologize for being that way, which makes them much more interesting and fun to watch".

It is not just any “series of lawyers”. The series focuses on the prestigious defense attorney and professor of law at the University of Philadelphia, Annalize Keating, and on the team made up of her best students who will apply her teachings in the various cases they will have to deal with.

CHARACTERS:

~Wes Gibbins-Alfred Enoch: He has a great sense of justice and is the outstanding student of Annalize.

~Michaela Pratt-Aja Naomi King: Brilliant and perfectionist although somewhat repellent, with some codependency, and an arrogant tone.

~Frank Delfino-Charlie Webb: He is Annalize's right hand man with very unorthodox methods and a big secret.

~Connor Walsh-Jack Falahee: He is cunning and stubborn with serious empathy problems, arrogant, wants everyone's attention regardless of the outcome.

~Asher Millstone-Matt McGorry: He is the prototypical alpha-male a bit loaded but with a heart and comic relief from the series.

~Laurel Castillo-Karla Souza: Idealistic and observant with a great sense of responsibility, at first she appears as a very simple, quiet character.

~Bonnie Winterbottom-Liza Weil: Faithful assistant to Annalize with a big problem of self-esteem.

HTGAWM follows a narrative structure in which three lines of action will alternate: The investigation of the murder of Lila Stangard, and the defense of one of the main suspects who will be the backbone of the series, will be joined with a narrated in flashforward mode the murder committed by four of the students and, consequently, the cover-up of the same; as well as episodic cases that will be indirectly related to the evolution of some of the characters.

This series really hooks you! it acts as a kind of clue for the viewer who will have to reconstruct the events so that the plot makes sense episode after episode. Is a great thriller with palpable tension and a mind-game plot full of surprising twists and cliffhangers that will make you look forward to the next chapter, a series that will leave you wanting to know more and more, and where all the elements are connected to perfection.

The duality of its protagonist: Annalize Keating will be configured as a ruthless, cold and calculating woman without any kind of remorse that instills fear and admiration among her students and who is respected, outside and inside the court.

However, beyond that facet, she will show herself as a woman full of insecurities and vulnerable; at the same time that she presents herself as a toxic character that will drag everyone around her to the most imminent destruction.

It is one of those shows that if you lose a chapter, the whole plot is complicated and you are lost, in one moment many things can happen and unravel your theories, or change all the rules of the game and leave you completely confused about what is happening.

It deserves all the respect for how well it is structured, for the diversity of the characters, for the great performance of Viola Davis, for the concept of the series, if you have not seen it yet, believe me you should, you will want to watch all the episodes in a day. At the moment Netflix only has until the fifth season, but you will be able to watch the sixth and last season on other online platforms.

FRACTURED!

Hello beautiful people, how are you feeling today? are you ready for today's post?

Today I come to tell you about a suspense movie directed by Brad Anderson, based on the script by Alan B. McElroy, which is on the Netflix platform. With Sam Worthington, Lily Rabe, Stephen Tobolowsky, Adjoa Andoh, Lucy Capri, among others.

It's called “Fractured” and it's a family drama that goes through the trauma filter of an accident that, as we will see, determines everything. A psychological thriller that flirts with the idea of criminal conspiracies to construct a story about guilt, and especially about the inability of its protagonist Sam Worthington.

SYNOPSIS:

Ray Monroe is an alcoholic in the midst of rehabilitation, who drives behind the wheel of his car along with his wife Joanne and daughter Peri. They return from a disastrous Thanksgiving meal with her parents, and at a certain point on the way, the little girl needs to go to the bathroom and they park the car at a gas station, where a few minutes later the tragedy will occur, in a mistake of her parents, Peri is cornered by a menacing-looking dog and falls on her back in a space under construction. Ray tries to help Peri by throwing a stone at the dog but it scares her, he tries to grab her but it's too late and he falls into the construction too.

"Fractured" It's a haunting and captivating story that shows how untreated trauma can cause us to part with reality.

Director Brad Anderson spoke about what the final scene of the film means to him, and how it might apply to how many people live today:

"I wonder if he will wake up to the truth or not. That is the question at the end of the movie. Depending on how gloomy the point of view is about things, it can be said that he lives in self-deception, that for him it is better than living in reality”.

“We all do that up to a point in our lives, we do not want to face harsh realities we just want to ignore them and set them aside. Maybe there's a little bit of that going on here. It seems to me that the end is sad and tragic, but it is also moving”.

“He is just a boy who wants to be a good father. He wants to be a father and a husband who does the right thing. At the beginning of the movie, he is blinded and depressed. I don't think he understood. It is not a direct horror. It is a tragedy with connotations of horror”. 

Like so many others in its genre, this film invites us to be the smart ones, to anticipate the resolution. That is, in fact, one of the most interesting games in this genre for the viewers, but I think the possibilities on this film are a bit slim. Sam Worthington's portrayal, which does a good job on its part, helps bring the suspense, and clues to uncover the true meaning of the plot.

I liked it, i's not a boring movie, but it wasn't excellent either, I think it had everything to be much better but it fell short.

Let's talk about exciting series, Boku dake ga inai machi (僕 だ け が い な い 街 lit. The city where only I have disappeared), known in Latin America as "Erased", is a manga series written and illustrated by Kei Sanbe serialized in Young Ace magazine in Kadokawa Shoten since 2012. The first volume launched on June 2nd and ended on March 4th, 2016 with 8 volumes.

In 2016, under the production of A-1 Pictures, the animated adaptation was broadcast by Fuji TV from January 8th to March 26th of that year. The series was directed by Tomohiko Ito and written by Taku Kishimoto, with character design by Keigo Sasaki.

A live action film adaptation of Boku dake ga inai machi premiered in Japanese theaters on March 19th, 2016. Then in 2017, Netflix announced a live action series adaptation, which was released worldwide by the streaming platform on December 15th.

Today I am going to tell you about the adaptation to the series that is on Netflix, Satoru is 29 years old, is a mangaka (manga artist) and works as a pizza delivery boy. His life is apparently ordinary, but he has a special ability: when he is near the place where some incident that puts someone's life at risk occurs, he goes back a few minutes in time to avoid it.

One night, Satoru arrives at the place where a murder has occurred and becomes the main suspect; the regression does not take him a few minutes ago, but 18 years ago, when he was in primary school. Satoru will have to discover the relationship between the events that occurred then, with the murder of his present and try to change the past.

His particular ability will not be helpful for this, but he will have to overcome the conflicts that he did not have the courage to face as a child, and, on the way, rediscover his identity. With this he will not only save several lives but also save himself, discovering the value of friendship along the way, and realizing that sometimes the help of other people is necessary to be successful.

Introspection, monologues, and tenderness (common resources in the Japanese narrative) say present in this live-action and collide with the western way of telling and receiving stories. There lies the magic of this story, in showing us through Satoru how our lack of empathy makes us ignore the problems that people close to us may be experiencing, because when we are lulled by the rays of the sun, it's easy to turn our backs on the black clouds.

Such is the fidelity of this adaptation, that it was proposed to maintain the most important ages, dialogues and characterizations of the original, only by subtracting or adding what effectively solidifies the story. And I can say that it is precisely at this point that the Netflix adaptation surpassed the anime.

In my opinion, this adaptation stuck to and approached the manga in a different way from what was seen in the anime; and they even chose to end the story using the formula written by his mangaka, which was much more logical and forceful, while in the anime everything is hasty and implausible.

The serial killer and criminal genius of the series (whom I will not reveal so as not to ruin your experience) are also given depth, presenting their background and motivations, which were not addressed so well in the anime.

The series does not lose the suspense at any moment and makes us stay on the edge of the seat trying to discover who the murderer is and how Satoru will stop him as a child. Erased is an excellent option for those who love the thriller genre, it has only 12 episodes of approximately 20 minutes.

ANNE WITH AN E!

Hello beautiful people, Happy Monday! I bring you a super Netflix series, you can not miss it.

It is a Canadian television series based on the "Anne of Green Gables" novel series written by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and adapted by Emmy-winning writer and producer Moira Walley-Beckett. It was broadcast by CBC between 2017 and 2019 in Canada and is available on Netflix worldwide.

The series consists of a total of three seasons, these forming a set of 27 episodes. The first season is made up of seven episodes, and seasons two and three are made up of 10 episodes each. The duration of each episode ranges from approximately 45 minutes, with the exception of the first episode of the first season, which lasts 1 hour and 28 minutes.

This series has been one of the most mentioned and seen on Netflix, it has very peculiar and beautiful things that make it stand out in a positive way and win the hearts of all who dare to see it.

For example the titles of the chapters are phrases taken from classical literature:

• The titles of the episodes of the first season are phrases from the 1847 Jane Eyre novel written by Charlotte Brontë, this novel is considered one of the first feminist novels.
• The titles of the second season are phrases from Middlemarch: A study of life in the provinces written in 1871 by George Eliot, the pseudonym of Mary Anne Evans, an English writer who includes in her themes the situation of women, the nature of marriage, idealism and self-interest, religion, hypocrisy, political reform, and education.
• Finally, in the third and last season the episode titles are Frankenstein phrases written in 1818 by Mary Shelley, which frames themes on scientific morality, the creation and destruction of life.

Anne with an E was originally intended to last five seasons and had a good rating. But after Netflix and CBC broke relationships, they canceled the series in its third season. CBC considered that continuing to collaborate with Netflix for the co-production and distribution of their series would mean a deterioration in the entertainment industry.

SYNOPSIS:

The series dates back to 1896 on Prince Edward Island, when brothers Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert decide to adopt a boy from the orphanage to help with the chores of their home on the Green Gables farm. Matthew went to pick up the boy from a train station when, to his surprise, he realizes that they had sent Anne Shirley, a 13-year-old girl.

Anne is a talkative girl, with a great imagination and with many skills, which she have acquired throughout her life. Her parents died three months after she was born and she has lived all her life between an orphanage and several houses in which she helped with chores.

CAST:

• Amybeth McNulty-Anne Shirley: Play Anne Shirley, whose defining traits include her optimistic personality, intelligence, and innate curiosity.
• Lucas Jade Zumann-Gilbert Blythe: Gilbert took over his father's farm when he fell ill. He is good at school and although initially there was tension between him and Anne, they have grown closer throughout the series.
• Geraldine James-Marilla Cuthbert: Marilla and her brother accept Anne to help them on their farm. Marilla has a moderate, almost cold personality, but her friendship with Anne breaks that shell.
• RH. Thomson-Matthew Cuthbert: Matthew is the brother of Marilla, a shy and sweet man, who forms a close bond with Anne. Like Marilla, Anne's friendship helps Matthew regain some of his zest for life after years of locking himself up.
• Corrine Koslo-Rachel Lynde: She is Marilla's best friend. She has no filters on her opinions and loves to gossip, after some early tension between her and Anne, they soon become friendly.
• Delilah Bela-Diana Barry: She is the best friend of the main character. Diana is more punished than her best friend, although like Anne she is also very friendly. However, she is not afraid to speak for herself or confront bullies.

OPINION:

Anne is adorable, her story is exciting. She is a strong girl, capable of overcoming adversities, who sometimes tries to survive by reciting; who understands that the world can be horrible, but that the imagination is a refuge in which we can always be happy. And that with her intelligence, sensitivity and self-confidence, with her ability to unveil the injustices of the society in which she had to live, she will achieve that a complete town advances a small step towards inclusion, tolerance, and gender equality.

To me it's a beautiful story that is worth sharing with our family, with children, cousins, friends, as a way of teaching about feminism, prejudice, classism, identity, abuse and, above all, the importance of imagination and knowledge.

Hopefully they can get a fourth season because it is worth to continue watching this series, meanwhile fill your mind with the three seasons that are on Netflix, digest it, comment on it, share it and reflect with its message.

UNBELIEVABLE!

Hello beautiful people, let's start the week with a lot of energy and putting together those plans that we made the weekend.

Today I bring you a Netflix miniseries called Unbelievable, it is based on the real facts about a rape in the United States.

In December 2015, an article titled “An Unbelievable story of rape” by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong was published in The Marshall Project and ProPublica, which months later would win the Pulitzer Prize for revealing the hard history of a young woman. that she was raped and completely mistreat by the police system that was supposed to support her.

This is the origin of this Netflix drama created by Susannah Grant, Ayelet Waldman and Michael Chabon, and starring Emmy winners Toni Collette and Merritt Wever, who in this drama play detectives Grace Rasmussen and Karen Duvall, respectively, and, Kaitlyn Dever as Marie Adler.

The story of Unbelievable centers on Marie Adler, an 18-year-old girl who, after a strange night, is brutally raped by a stranger in her own room, after making the report, she must answer a lot of uncomfortable questions to police officers. and detectives who will carry out the investigation; in addition to undergoing medical examinations that leave her even more exposed.

Marie tries to get on with her life and work in a store, under the watchful eye of two of her adoptive mothers concerned that she doesn't seem as shocked as she should. Suddenly, the inconsistencies between their different statements and those of some witnesses begin to make noise in the police investigation that does not seem to search so much for the person responsible, how to determine if the girl is really telling the truth.

The constant pressure from the detectives and the memories of that night begin to take effect in Marie's state of mind, pushing her to give in to her own doubts and finally admit that she cannot distinguish if the rape was real or part of a dream. This act of “lying” about her violation leads her to suffer total rejection from her close circle, isolating her even more, affecting her work and life in an irreparable way.

For me what ultimately makes the series surprising is not the actual case, nor the police investigation, nor, if you will, the feminist outlook on the subject. It is their attachment to facts and real times, to what is known and not to what is speculated, to what matters (the victims and the investigation) and not to what is usually sold as fascinating (the perverse psychology of criminal). 

It shows how rape is a type of crime that is often difficult to prove by police malpractice and is also to make clear that the authorities are not emotionally prepared to handle this type of case, especially when the investigators are men and the Empathy with the victims seems to be less. With victims you must listen to them and understand them, and you must realize that emotional damage often makes them contradict themselves and even become violent due to the accumulated frustrations, without first doubting their complaints.

This miniseries is maddening but in my opinion very necessary to understand and empathize (even more) with victims of sexual abuse, especially those who are judged, even above their attackers. When it seems more important to know what type of clothes she wore or if she was alone late at night and suddenly they must face the accusing gaze of the rest, when in reality they are the victims.

There is a scene where Marie's lawyer say something that really affected me: "You know, no one accuses a robbery victim of lying... but when it comes to sexual assault..." And that is the axis of the story, it is seen how even in 2008 the flaws in the judicial system were enormous, how easy it was for a criminal to pass under the radar, and how it changes your life when suffering an assault.

I recommend that you watch it, it's not only a good police series but a series to reflect and advance positively and if you know someone who has suffered an assault, be there, be understanding and do everything possible to help.

PSYCHO-PASS!

Hello beautiful people, happy sunday! Today I bring you an anime that interested me a lot this year and that has left me super intrigued and wanting more.

Is about Psycho-Pass (サ イ コ パ ス) a police anime series set in a future dystopian Japan produced by Production IG. It began airing on the noitaminA block of the Fuji TV television network from October 11, 2012, ending in March 2013. Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, the president and CEO of Production IG, confirmed on the studio panel at the Anime Expo in 2013 that there was a second season of Psycho-Pass in process, which premiered on October 9, 2014.

Five years later, the official website for the Psycho-Pass franchise revealed that the series would receive a third season titled Psycho-Pass 3 in October 2019 that was broadcast through Fuji TV's noitaminA block.

THE ANIME

In the near future, it is possible to instantly measure a person's mental state, personality, and the likelihood of that person going to commit crimes thanks to a psychosomatic scanner that scans the functions of the brain and other biological and chemical functions of the body, determining the "Psycho-Pass". All controlled by the Sibyl System (シ ビ ュ ラ シ ス テ ム Shibyurashisutemu) a private organization that is in charge of the measurement of the Psycho-Pass, as well as the creation and the handling of the “Dominator” weapons.

When this probability, measured as the "Crime Coefficient Index", is too high, it has a very dark color and a very high number, individuals are hunted down and detained with lethal force, if necessary. This task is carried out by a special team of potential criminals called Executors, who are supervised by police officers known as Inspectors.

Thus, the criminal coefficient will imply a predetermination of people's lives: what work they will or will not do, what sentimental relationships they may or may not have, and so on. In this way, an intelligent system will direct the lives of citizens.

As one of the characters in the series, the psychologist Jouji Saiga suggests, from the idea of bureaucracy related to the conception of the state proposed by Max Weber in which there is a predetermined and “rational” division from the organizational point of view of who should perform each of the tasks for the sake of the power structure. An approach that involves in Psycho-Pass a critical political and sociological reflection regarding not only the incidence of technologies in everyday life but also the enormous competitive-cannibal selection process that occurs in Japanese society.

It has three seasons, the first being published in 2012, with a total of 22 episodes of approximately 20 minutes per episode, a second season launched in 2014, with a total of 11 episodes of approximately 20 minutes and a third season launched in 2019 with 8 episodes of approximately 1 hour.

Although in my personal opinion I must say that the second season disappointed me a lot, not only because Urobuchi did not participate in the development of the characters, that I.G. was no longer the production company and that there were only eleven episodes, but that it was limited, often meaningless and rushed. From a macro perspective, I will tell you that the series can entertain, but it is also true that it has been weak and that, if we compare it with its prequel, it is a fact that several people are left with a bittersweet taste in their mouths. As for the third season I have not yet had the pleasure to see it, so I will give you my opinion about it later, but with a preview I realized that they are completely new characters and maybe I can recover a little

DEVELOPING

When creating the Psycho-Pass anime, the chief director Katsuyuki Motohiro wanted the series to counter current anime trends, as a result, the use of the moé element was banned.

Motohiro had been wanting to do an anime again for some time, but he needed a charismatic screenwriter to do it. He then proposed Gen Urobuchi to work together in early 2011.

In the making of the series, Motohiro allowed highly graphic elements even though it could reduce female audience. He acknowledges that the series may be too violent for younger audiences, and commented that he would not like his son to see it because it is psychologically brutal.

FIRST SEASON CHARACTERS

• Akane Tsunemori:
  Inspector recently assigned to Unit 1. Considered an exemplary citizen, she decided to enter the police despite having high qualifications that allow her to enter other areas of public and private companies, because she was the only person who achieved a good score in that area, what led her to believe perhaps there was something that only she could do if she entered the Office of Public Safety.
• Shinya Kōgami:
  Executor of Unit 1 of the Public Security Crime Section and subordinate of Akane. He was previously an inspector and a partner of Ginoza, however after the cruel murder of Sasayama, an executor assigned to his position during the course of an investigation, ended up obsessing over the resolution of the case, rapidly increasing his crime rate to the point that it was demoted to the position of Executor.
• Nobuchika Ginoza:
  A veteran inspector and former Shinya partner, he is in charge of Unit 1 enforcers. Smart and cold he is a staunch believer in the Sibyl system, continually insisting Akane on drawing a clear line between inspectors and enforcers.
• Tomomi Masaoka:
  

  He is the oldest among all the executors of Unit 1. He is Akane's guide in his learning about the operation of the Public Security Office System. He has a good relationship with Shinya, since they were both inspectors whose crime rates rose to the point of being demoted to the rank of executors.
  
• Yayoi Kunizuka:
  The only female executor of Unit 1. She is always calm and collected, even in the face of the most brutal crimes. Before being detected as a latent criminal, she was a musician authorized by the Sibyl System, being the guitarist of a band.
• Shūsei Kagari:
  An executor of Unit 1. Kagari had a normal childhood until, at the age of five, he was detected as a latent criminal during the medical examination of the ministry, being taken to the rehabilitation center and then becoming an executor.
• Shion Karanomori:
  An analyst from the Division of the Public Security Office of General Analysis and latent criminal. She provides support to executors and inspectors in their investigation by analyzing the data and the evidence submitted by them.
• Shogo Makishima:
  An old enemy of Shinya and the target of his revenge. The brains behind the many cases that the Public Security Bureau is investigating, including the one that led to downgrading Shinya from inspector to executor. Despite his murders, his ratio has never reached dangerous levels, making the Dominator immune. Makishima does not consider killing to be a bad thing, but is even natural, having no remorse for such actions.

FILMS

In 2015 a delivery called "Gekijouban Psycho-Pass" occurs two years after the second season and the premise is that The Union of Southeast Asian countries decide to implement the Psycho-pass program to reduce crime. At the same time, Inspector Akane Tsunemori, in charge of the Public Security Crime Section, works in a terrorist operation that takes her to Japan. Upon arrival there, Akane discovers that the government is not using the program properly. It lasts 113 min and returns with the development of Gen Urobuchi and the production house Production I.G.

In 2019 it was announced that a trilogy called "Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System" would be released which would follow part of the original story showing three independent stories at different points in the main Psycho-Pass timeline.

• Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System Case.1 - Tsumi to Bachi: In the winter of 2117, a runaway vehicle collides with the Office of Public Safety Building. The driver is identified as Izumi Yasaka, a psychological counselor at the Shrine, a latent criminal isolation facility in Aomori Prefecture. But just before their interrogation, Enforcer Mika Shimotsuki and Inspector Nobuchika Ginoza are tasked with quickly escorting Yasaka back to Aomori. What awaits you is a false paradise.
• Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System Case.2 First Guardian: Okinawa, Summer 2112. Teppei Sugo is a pilot who is taking part in a series of military operations belonging to the 15th National Defense Forces Squadron. Three months later, several drones attack the city of Tokyo, thus mobilizing the forces that the country has assigned for its defense. Tomomi Masaoka is in charge of investigating the case, going to the National Forces military base and descovering a complex plot of conspiracy.
• Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System Case.3 Onshuu no Kanata ni: Shinya Kogami rescues a refugee bus in a South Asian country when he is about to become the target of an armed guerrilla. Among the refugees is a girl named Tenzing, who after having a conversation with Kogami, begins to beg him to make her his apprentice so that she can take revenge on his oppressors. This circumstance leads Kogami to question the type of world in which they live and the options that their inhabitants are considering to obtain a better life.

This year "Psycho-pass: First Inspector" was released and its also from Production I.G. and acts as a sequel to the 2019 anime Psycho-Pass 3. It takes place in Tokyo, 2120. In a society supervised by the Sibyl System, Inspectors Arata Shindo and Kei Mikhail Ignatov fro Unit 1 face each other for truth and justice. Koichi Azusawa, the mastermind behind a series of crimes, sets his sights on them and launches an assault on the Office of Public Safety Building. Unit 1 is in jeopardy like never before, a case that will test Arata and Kei's loyalties.

Do not miss it, it has a lot of action, philosophy, desire for justice and makes you think what this society would be like if we had a program like that of the Sibyl System.
