TRAINING FOR YOUR DOG!

Hello beautiful people, it's finally Friday, we are coming to the end of another week. Who have pets or want to have one?

Today I bring you 10 tips for a perfect training when it comes to having a dog, whether you are acquiring it as a puppy or an older dog, you just have to be very patient and consider what the training method should be.

#1 Ask yourself questions about how you want to educate your doggo

No, it is not absurd, we all want our dog to come to our call, to sit down, not bite, give paw... but no, Im not referring to all those orders that we want it to learn. Before you start training, ask yourself the following:
  • Where am I going to want him to sleep?
  • Am I going to let him get on the couches and the beds?
  • Will she be able to access all the sites in the house?
  • Will she eat in the same place as us?

Normally when we have a new puppy, the emotion makes us forget the basic rules, and that is fine, but we must be clear that what we allow them to do from the moment they arrive will become normal behavior for them.

#2 The whole family should train the dog in the same way

The arrival of a furry friend is going to fill us all with happiness, there is no doubt about that; but also, of responsibilities. If you want the puppy to sleep in the kitchen, but your kid kidnaps him secretly and takes him to bed, that will only generate confusion. Our pet will not understand why with some people yes and with others no.

#3 Educate your dog to learn to recognize its name

We are faced with a very important step: teaching a puppy to recognize its name. You should bear in mind that the time it takes for a dog to learn its name is between 5 and 10 days.

A good way to start this training is to call him when you have eye contact and always, with the reinforcement of the award. From there, continue the exercises when its no longer looking at you.
#4 Educate your dog to learn to be with others

This is one of the most important steps, since knowing how to socialize will make our pet relate correctly to other dogs and people. If in the first months of your puppy's life you only have it at home, when it goes out for the first time, it is normal for her/him to be afraid.

It is very good that in those first months you walk with your pet in different places. Not only will it teach him how to move around the city, but he will see that there are many types of people, cars, bikes, etc. At first, your puppy may be shy, don't worry, he will gain self-confidence very quickly.

#5 You must teach your pet how to bite

At the same time that your puppy discovers that the world is very large and there are an infinite number of mysteries to be discovered, it must learn to communicate.

Our dog will interact with us through its mouth. Not only do they play by pretending to bite, they catch objects with their mouths; but also, they give them to us with it. It is important that they learn to control their way of biting before the 4 or 5 months.

You must have all his toys for him to bite, but you must use your hand to teach him the difference, the moment he presses very hard with your hand, you just have to push it away and go, like this, repeatedly until he understands how he should bite.

#6 You must train your puppy positively

You may not know it, but it has been shown that it is more effective to train reinforcing positive behaviors, and avoiding negative ones. If your dog is only scolded for misconduct and you don't value what he does well, he becomes unmotivated. That doesn't mean you never scold him, but you must learn what is right and what is wrong.

Use caresses, compliments and treats, do it in a combined way since dogs like, not only to have a prize in the form of food but also a good caress on the back to know that they are doing something right.
#7 Don't have a contradictory training

We are faced with a classic failure when it comes to educating a dog, many people call their dog when he has done something silly and punish him. By doing so, the dog learns that it is very dangerous to come because sometimes he receives a punishment when you call him. After a few times the most normal thing is that it don't answer your call.
#8 Teach your dog to be alone

One of the causes of greater anxiety and sadness for our pets is spending a lot of time without us, since they are social animals they need company. Still, it is very important that our dog learns to manage his loneliness.

It is not healthy that in the first weeks of living with your pet, you are with it all the time. We must make exits from the house, even if they are for a very short period of time.

#9 Training sessions must short and in different places

Teaching the dog should be fun for him and you. Therefore, it is advisable to organize short work sessions, of about 15 minutes each. That way, neither of you will be bored or frustrated.

It is also advisable that you vary the training site. The order he obey at home may not be followed in the park. The more you vary the sites and the moments getting positive responses, the more reliable your dog's behavior will be.

#10 Learn to scold him properly

In some moments, our puppy will act in an inappropriate way. However, if we want our pet to understand that something should not be done, just say the word "NO". With our tone we are telling you everything, it is not necessary to lengthen it, nor to scream, nor to hit it. The dog understands by the posture, the tone of voice and the word that it should not behave in this way.

I hope these tips serve you and have the best relationship with your puppy

XOXO Li.
