THE PYTHON CHER!

Hello beautiful people! How is your weekend going? Today I want to tell you about a very peculiar but funny story.

Emi is a 6-year-old girl who has rare pets, we are talking about Sonny and Cher, two snakes from the family of reticulated pythons that are more than 4 meters tall, are the pets of Ed Taoka's family. The curious Cher who is the closest to the girl has just shown that a python can also become a loyal playmate, which is not so strange considering that they have grown together.
Emi met Cher at the age of two, at that time the snake was small and the girl could carry her in her arms. However, to allow the girl and Cher to live together, her father Ed had to make sure that the python was sociable and meek, but also that his daughter knew how to be genuinely kind.

Cher lies on Emi and spends her time lying between her legs or on the sofa next to her. According to Ed, for five years they have been having fun together, trust being one of the key pieces for their friendship.

WHAT ARE PYTHONS?

Pythons, like their close relatives the Boas, are constrictor snakes, and by definition not venomous. Normally they attack, animals that pass nearby, kill their prey by suffocation, they first bite by grabbing them with their mouths and quickly wrapping their bodies around them. Once this is done, high pressures are placed on the ribs and lungs of its prey, which it cannot inhale in this way.

Contrary to popular belief, these snakes don't squeeze or crush their prey, and when they kill a normal-sized prey, in the vast majority of cases the pressure exerted by the snake is not enough to break any bone.

To me in particular it seems a bit odd but I like that they have pythons, I really like animals in general, I think I am only afraid of spiders and scorpions, but I would like to swim with sharks, touch a snake or feed a crocodile. That's actually on my bucket list hahaha
It seems to me that as strange as it may seem there are animals that are exotic and although they are more dangerous, if you educate yourself about the correct way of raising and the care that these animals should have, you could have them as pets. Taking into account that most of the time the habitat that these animals must have must be adequate so that they can continue with the more natural routine that they must have.

Emi's father comments that pythons can be pets if they are domesticated in the correct way, he has shared on his different social networks the day to day of his girl and her pythons. Precisely, one of those videos went viral on Facebook where you can see how the little girl plays and laughs with Cher, "My daughter and our snake Cher are the best friends", this has divided opinions because some users consider their risky way to have fun.
The images also generated criticism towards the parents of Emi who left her "exposed" to the snake without taking into account that it could strangle her. But she is so familiar with the animal that she even caresses it like a pet and even rests her face on it.

"Snakes are not pets", "this is quite uncomfortable to see", and "someone should report the girl's parents to social services", are part of the comments the publication received.

Although Ed has made it very clear that Emi never has Sonny and Cher unsupervised, some people still consider him to be very risky and shouldn't have pythons in his house.

What do you think? would you have any of them as pets?

I leave you the video of this great story!

PARASITE!

Hi beautiful people, sorry for not posting yesterday, I had a little problem and my mind wasn't on it. Let's talk about movies, specifically the movie Parasite, another of South Korean director Bong Joon-ho's masterpieces.

It's a 2019 drama, suspense, and dark humor movie, starring Song Kang-ho (Snowpiercer), Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Jang Hye-jin, Choi Woo-shik, and Park So-dam. The film premiered on May 21st, 2019 at the Cannes Film Festival, where it became the first South Korean film to earn the Palme d'Or and the first to do so with the unanimous vote of the jury since 2013 in which it won the movie La vie d'Adèle.
It was launched in South Korea by CJ Entertainment on May 30th, 2019, and in the rest of the world between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020. It raised $128 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing launch and the 19th highest grossing film in South Korea.
PRODUCTION

Script:

The idea for Parasite originated in 2013 while working on Snowpiercer, Bong was encouraged by a theater actor friend to write a play. He had been a tutor for the son of a wealthy family in Seoul when he was in his early twenties, and considered turning his experience into a theatrical production. After completing Snowpiercer, Bong wrote a fifteen-page film treatment for the first half of Parasite, which his production assistant Han Jin-won converted into three different drafts of the script.

Filming:

Filming began on May 18th, 2018 and ended 77 days later on September 19th, 2018. The Park family home, which in the film says was designed by a fictional architect named Namgoong Hyeonja, was a set brand new. Production designer Lee Ha-jun said the sun was an important factor in building the outdoor set.

SYNOPSIS:

Both Kim Ki-Taek and his family are out of work. When their oldest son, Ki-Woo, begins teaching private lessons in the Park's wealthy home, the two families, who have a lot in common despite belonging to two completely different worlds, form a relationship of unpredictable results. He begins to sneak the other members of his family into the house, such as his sister as an art teacher, his mother as a domestic worker, and his father as the personal driver of the Park patriarch.
OPINION:

The way in which the appearance of this subject destabilizes the bourgeois order makes us think as much of Pier Paolo Pasolini's Theorem, with the figure of the handsome young man who destroys the harmony of a wealthy family, as in The Servant, by Joseph Losey, with his claustrophobic portrait of how a butler ended up subduing his master. Here the acid radiography of the family institution is formulated from the satirical, the cartoonish, and ends up leading to a wild dissection of the class struggle.

With the title of the film it could be evident that it is about this poor family that takes advantage of a rich family, but as you delve into the plot you will notice of certain characters that play the role of “Parasites” are appearing and that in the end It's not the Kim who are precisely the harvesters, in fact if you think about the Park and how their position at the top prevents them from seeing the real problems of society, or how they are unable to perform the simplest tasks of the house but on the contrary, they have someone to do it for them. Would they not then be the greatest “Parasites” in this story?
Bong Joon-ho hid in his movie more than one meaning. The main one is undoubtedly the criticism of the economic model that is almost impossible to change. If Ki-woo's plan is literally interpreted, this is nothing more than a daydream as the last shot of him ending his letter in the basement shows.

But if there has been anything so far Parasite taught us, it's that everything can go from "good" to "terrible" in no time, especially when it comes to dreams. Ki-woo has ideas and promises that sound good in his head, but the really complicated thing comes when he gets to the practice of it.

I recommend this film 100%, you have a lot of content to digest and criticize. Let me know in the comments your opinion and if you enjoy it.

CONFESS!

Hello beautiful people today is book day and I bring you a wonderful one.

Colleen Hoover is the New York Times No. 1 selling author of eleven novels and five short novels. Hoover's novels fall into the categories of new adults and young adults.

Colleen was born on December 11, 1979 in Sulfur Springs, Texas, she grew up in Saltillo, TX, and graduated from Saltillo High School in 1998. In 2000, she married Heath Hoover, with whom she now has three children. Hoover graduated from Texas A & M-Commerce with a degree in Social Work. She did various social and teaching jobs until her writing career began.

In November 2011, Colleen began writing her first novel, Slammed, with no intention of being published. She was inspired by the lyrics, "Decide what to be and go to be", from an Avett Brothers song, "Head Full of Doubt / Road Full of Promise" and use it in the book. After a few months, her novel was reviewed by a major book blogger, Maryse Black, who gave it 5 stars, which caused her sales to increase rapidly.
But today I'm going to tell you about Confess a novel that was released on March 10, 2015, it is a novel full of science fiction, contemporary romance, and won the “Goodreads Choice Award in the Best Romance Category”

SYNOPSIS:

Auburn Reed has his whole life planned. Her goals are set and there is no room for error, but when she walks into an art studio in Dallas looking for a job, she doesn't expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For the first time, Auburn takes a risk and gives him the control, only to discover that Owen has enormous secrets to reveal. The sheer size of his past threatens to destroy everything that is important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to take Owen away from her.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he doesn't seem to be able to convince her that sometimes truths are as subjective as art. All you would have to do to save your relationship is confess. But in this case, confession could be much more destructive than sin...

This novel is narrated from the point of view of the two protagonists, which I liked very much because we can come to understand the way of acting of both and we can come to emphasize with them much more easily. Both Auburn and Owen are two very complete characters that, above all, evolve a lot throughout the pages due to the situations they have to go through.
“I think love is a hard word to define. You can love a lot of things about a person, but still not love the whole person”.

Confess's prologue is simply heartbreaking, I find it spectacular that Colleen managed to break my heart in the first pages of the book without knowing anything about the characters. I have always admired the way that Colleen weaves a story and gives you answers throughout the book, it shows that she plans them first and not only writes along the way.

I would love to highlight the visual of the book, the cover itself is beautiful but the book has some images that are the faces, or portraits that Owen paints and they are magnificent. In the novel He is inspired by people's confessions and this is where the title makes sense, his study is called "Confess" and people write a confession anonymously to leave it there. Owen then reads them and creates his pictures.
Confess is a book full of secrets and mysteries that are revealed little by little, many of them surprised me and literally left me speechless. Suspense permeates the book to the last pages, making me hooked to the last page.

I recommend it 100% you will not regret reading it.

I leave the Confess HERE

UNBELIEVABLE!

Hello beautiful people, let's start the week with a lot of energy and putting together those plans that we made the weekend.

Today I bring you a Netflix miniseries called Unbelievable, it is based on the real facts about a rape in the United States.

In December 2015, an article titled “An Unbelievable story of rape” by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong was published in The Marshall Project and ProPublica, which months later would win the Pulitzer Prize for revealing the hard history of a young woman. that she was raped and completely mistreat by the police system that was supposed to support her.
This is the origin of this Netflix drama created by Susannah Grant, Ayelet Waldman and Michael Chabon, and starring Emmy winners Toni Collette and Merritt Wever, who in this drama play detectives Grace Rasmussen and Karen Duvall, respectively, and, Kaitlyn Dever as Marie Adler.
The story of Unbelievable centers on Marie Adler, an 18-year-old girl who, after a strange night, is brutally raped by a stranger in her own room, after making the report, she must answer a lot of uncomfortable questions to police officers. and detectives who will carry out the investigation; in addition to undergoing medical examinations that leave her even more exposed.

Marie tries to get on with her life and work in a store, under the watchful eye of two of her adoptive mothers concerned that she doesn't seem as shocked as she should. Suddenly, the inconsistencies between their different statements and those of some witnesses begin to make noise in the police investigation that does not seem to search so much for the person responsible, how to determine if the girl is really telling the truth.

The constant pressure from the detectives and the memories of that night begin to take effect in Marie's state of mind, pushing her to give in to her own doubts and finally admit that she cannot distinguish if the rape was real or part of a dream. This act of “lying” about her violation leads her to suffer total rejection from her close circle, isolating her even more, affecting her work and life in an irreparable way.
For me what ultimately makes the series surprising is not the actual case, nor the police investigation, nor, if you will, the feminist outlook on the subject. It is their attachment to facts and real times, to what is known and not to what is speculated, to what matters (the victims and the investigation) and not to what is usually sold as fascinating (the perverse psychology of criminal).

It shows how rape is a type of crime that is often difficult to prove by police malpractice and is also to make clear that the authorities are not emotionally prepared to handle this type of case, especially when the investigators are men and the Empathy with the victims seems to be less. With victims you must listen to them and understand them, and you must realize that emotional damage often makes them contradict themselves and even become violent due to the accumulated frustrations, without first doubting their complaints.

This miniseries is maddening but in my opinion very necessary to understand and empathize (even more) with victims of sexual abuse, especially those who are judged, even above their attackers. When it seems more important to know what type of clothes she wore or if she was alone late at night and suddenly they must face the accusing gaze of the rest, when in reality they are the victims.
There is a scene where Marie's lawyer say something that really affected me: "You know, no one accuses a robbery victim of lying... but when it comes to sexual assault..." And that is the axis of the story, it is seen how even in 2008 the flaws in the judicial system were enormous, how easy it was for a criminal to pass under the radar, and how it changes your life when suffering an assault.

I recommend that you watch it, it's not only a good police series but a series to reflect and advance positively and if you know someone who has suffered an assault, be there, be understanding and do everything possible to help.
